Great Reviews of Firestorm by other Authors!
Multi-award winning author, Sarah Singleton
“Tightly-plotted, full of action and adventure, Mark Robson’s Firestorm is a thrilling read with three engaging young heroes. I particularly enjoyed the incursion of the dragons and their riders into the ‘real’ world and their meeting with the World War I pilots - a deft and original touch in a fantasy story - and best of all, for me, the evocative descriptions of the terrors and delights of flying.”
Chris d’Lacey - Author of the Icefire books
‘I found Firestorm very enjoyable and think it will be a great addition to dragon fantasy lore, especially for top juniors. I was particularly impressed with the way Mark handled the fight scene with the hunters. Very gripping. There were also some breathtaking and very convincing descriptions of flight involving the dragons. I envy his military flying background for that!
This has all the elements of good children’s fiction. I think the young readers will latch onto the characters very easily and be looking out for the next book in the series as soon as they’ve finished the first.’
New Online Partnership to Provide Signed Books
I’ve just agreed an exciting new partnership with my local games/book shop:
Through The Games Vault you will now be able to order books signed to order whenever you like, and not have to faff about with cheques and order forms. You can either follow the link provided and order online, or telephone the shop on 01327 310541. Steve Rhodes is the manager, and a very nice man he is, too! It’s been a long time coming, but I’m delighted to finally be able to offer this facility.
Books ordered will be signed and despatched quickly. I frequent the Games Vault at least a couple of times every week. I use the upper rooms as one of my growing number of writing haunts. Please do make use of this opportunity. Signed books make for great presents. The Dragon Orb books will also be available here as they launch.
It should also be noted that The Games Vault is one of the very few places left in the UK where you can still buy Time Pieces, but get your copy quick - Steve has less than a handful left!
For those who enjoyed Time Pieces …
Ian Whates at Newcon Press has gone into overdrive after the success of Time Pieces, the signed, limited edition collection of short stories. He’s now editing and publishing a string of collectible anthologies, each with different themes. His second, disLOCATIONS offers a fantastic array of stories from talented and well known authors. All the copies have been signed by all the authors, but the print runs are not very big, so get your copies quickly.
He’s due to launch not one, but two more in the next few weeks - Celebration and Myth-Understandings The list of authors contributing to these read like a who’s who of SF!
Edinburgh Festival
For those readers who frequent the Edinburgh Festival, you will find my name featured on the programme for 2008. I’ve just accepted my invitation to take part, though I’m not sure what I’ll be doing, or when, yet. I will post more information here when I have it.
My programme for the next Few months looks like this:
