Not again!

Every time I get out of The Cave it seems a monster is waiting just around the corner. Three of us made a break for it last week. Ali Sparkes, Andy Briggs and I ran and hid amongst the prestigious company of Jaqueline Wilson, Anthony Browne and many other authors, librarians and teachers at the Renaissance Learning Annual Conference in Stratford. Before we knew it, this creature turned up to take us back to the cave.
Oh, it might look friendly, fluffy and cuddly, but the reason it looks so smug … and round, is that it had just eaten several of the visiting English Teachers (apparently they taste better than authors). We knew there was no escape, so we went quietly in the end … well, when I say ‘quietly’, there were a few snivels and whimpers (mainly from Andy) but it was a pretty hopeless situation, so I can’t say I blame him.
