Percy Jackson and the Olympians

I’ve now read the first two of the Percy Jackson stories and they are fantastic. Fast paced. Great ideas. Wonderful monsters. I’m hoping the first film will live up to the books, and that this will be one series that will really translate well onto the big screen. The trailer above certainly looks promising. I’m hoping to see the film soon after it launches in the UK and I’ll let you know what I think. :-)

I’m yet to decide if it’s the storytelling or just the marketing which is so cynically trying to get some of that Harry Potter cash.
But it does look interesting, so I might have to take a look.

I can assure you it’s just the marketing, the book is surprisingly quite good….

I’ve read all the books and seen the film now. I thought the books were great and I couldn’t put them down. I read the whole series within about a week in the end! I didn’t think the film was as good as the book though because the story was quite different and it wasn’t as detailed. I suppose that happens when books are turned into films though.
