Why is this bad? Because it means the kids are off school. Why is that bad? Because with my aupair away it means I can’t do any writing! Just as I was really getting on with my new book at a good pace this happens. It’s as if the world is conspiring to stop me writing this book!

In the meantime, however, I’m off to have a snowball fight! :-)

  1. Lol that sounds like fun! iv had so many snowball fights over the past 3 days!!!!

slightly random mark, but does femke and/or reynik from the imerial series have surnames and if so what are they?? sorry im just curious, as i dont belive you mentioned them in the books!! =)

even more random!!!…-d’ya remember in 06 when you were in cheltenham signing Imerial spy? on the 4th of feb i hppened to be in otterkers (now waterstones)and you signed me a copy, at the same time asking my mum whether she thought i was old enough to read it! (i wz 9 at that time) she assured you that i was competent enough and so you wrote in my book
“to Megan welcome to my world!”
i loved the whole seies so much i read them over and over again. and even though it was quite along time ago, (as i am now 13)and i know you wont remember it, i do as clear as it was yesterday! thank you

  2. Hello, Megan. Thanks for your comment and questions. In brief, no, Reynik and Femke have never been given surnames. (At least not that I remember!) Making up names for fantasy books is never easy, so complicating things by adding surnames seems like unnecessary agony!

If I’m honest, I don’t remember you in particular. I’ve done so many signings over the years, they do tend to become a bit jumbled in my mind. I’m not surprised that I questioned if you were ready for Imperial Spy at the age of 9 - not that many are. You must have been very mature for your age, to say nothing of an excellent reader. I’m really pleased that you have enjoyed the books so much and I hope that you will like my new series as well.

The main characters in The Devil’s Triangle are going to be 14, so that should work out well for you.
