Harry Enfield and Chums at the KLQ.

The UK Final of the Kid’s Lit Quiz was held in Oxford this year at the prestigious Oxford Town Hall. Harry Enfield was the guest speaker, which sparked plenty of hilarity alongside the more serious business of finding the best team of readers in the UK. During the interval, Harry and I were momentarily attacked by the monster beard of fellow author, Philip Ardagh … an experience I’m not likely to forget in a hurry!
Thirty two authors attended the final - too many to list here. It was a super day out and a very keenly contested contest, with any one of 5 teams in the running for first place until the final question. It was good to see that one team did emerge as clear winners (by a single point) with sudden death play offs needed to separate 2nd, 3rd and 4th places. Many congratulations to the boys of Wheatley Park School. A fantastic result.
