He's really the shadow of a character created by David Eddings called Silk/Prince Kheldar in a series called The Belgariad. I think Silk was one of my favourite characters when I was in my teenage years. Obviously I had to make Fesha different to Silk, but I sort of 'tipped my hat' at Eddings when I wrote Fesha into the story. You might want to try reading Pawn of Prophecy, the first in the Belgariad and you'll see what I mean. Glad you like the sound of my new series, Stephen.
