Dragon Orb - Shadow
by Mark Robson
March 20, 2008
Well, I’ve sent the draft to my editor and I’ve now got my fingers crossed that she will like what I’ve done. If she doesn’t I’m in trouble! Time is tight as it is … and I have to write Longfang and Aurora by the end of the year! Pressure? Pah!
I’m reluctant to say too much about the story, as I would hate to ruin it for anyone. Suffice it to say that I’m pleased with the way it has come together. This is certainly turning into an action-packed storyline that I hope will draw a lot of new readers to my work.
I ended up writing the vast majority of this draft between 7 January and 7 March 2008. Two months of intense concentration - not something I’d like to repeat in a hurry, but it looks as if I’m not going to get a lot of choice. Simon & Schuster want to release the books in quick succession, so it looks as though I’m going to be racing to make the deadlines all the way through. My only hope is that I don’t end up by compromising quality for speed. I shall certainly put my foot down if I feel this is happening, but so far, so good. Two great stories have come together to form the first half of the quartet. I can only hope that I continue to feel so positive about the second half.
The release date for Shadow is not set in stone yet, but I anticipate it to hit the shelves in early 2009.

Early 2009? Awww… but I want them now! I’ve read all your other books and have signed copies of the first series and the last two in the next! I hope to see you in Cheltenham, where, unfortunately, you’ll have about 6 books to sign! :D

Hi, Matthew, great to see you here. I hope you’ll pop back when the new Dragon Orb Game is up and running - not long to wait now.

Hi,
just wanted to say that your book Firestorm is brilliant, I enjoyed the visit at the Perse prep,
Trumpington road on the 25th of September.
Just one question, which of the four dragons is your favourite?

Hello Claudia,
Thanks for your comment. I think Fang is probably my favourite dragon. His ability to camouflage himself is great, but more than that - he is a very noble dragon. I think you’ll see more of this as the series progresses.

Hi mark.
I’ve just finished reading Dragon Orb: Longfang and i’ve finally worked out the riddle. I cant believe it took me that long to figure out. I wont spoil it for other people but it was funny how you hid it in plain sight. Coz i was expecting something tricky so i didnt think of the obvious.
Love the books by the way. Oh and ive got a question. Does Aurora get pregnant in the last book? ;)
