Codex

When fellow author, Charles Butler, asked for volunteers to make up a team of writers with the intention of auditioning for a TV show, I thought - I’m game for a laugh.  I’ll have a go at that.  Now that we have passed the audition and are going to be filmed in the British Museum later in the month, I’m just beginning to wonder what I’ve let myself in for.

Codex is a show based around the contestents’ knowledge of ancient history … of which I feel I don’t know very much.  Surprisingly I gained quite a high score in the general history quiz that they gave us at audition, but I’m hoping there will be some questions based around logic and lateral thinking as well as straight knowledge of history, or I think I’m going to be in trouble!

Charles proved himself to be very strong in his general knowledge of history, and Linda Strachan, our third team member, proved no slouch either.  I’m hoping that between us we’ll acquit ourselves with a certain amount of honour and not look complete fools in front of such a large audience.  I must admit that I’m as excited about the prospect of the promotional potential offered by the show  as I am about the £3000 prize for the winning team.  However, that doesn’t mean I won’t be playing to win … I always play to win … at everything!

I’ll be putting news of when the show will air, and on which channel, when I have it.  In the meantime I shall look forward with some trepidation to the show down in the British Museum on 24th/25th June.

  1. Ain’t it a Channel 4 program? Well, the link you posted on Chrons in your thread went to a Channel 4 page. So, logically, it should air on Channel 4. =P

  2. Yes, Lenny, it does look as if its a Channel 4 programme, though it’s likely to be shown on cable channels as well as/instead of Channel 4. I’m really not sure of the details yet.
