Darkweaver - 50 000 milepost looming!

I had the pleasure of speaking at the Ashby De La Zouch Writers’ Circle last night and I blithely commented that I had sold nearly 50 000 of my self published Darkweaver Legacy books from home. Out of interest this morning I decided to see how nearly. I was pleased to see I was well on the right side of 45 000 copies sold to date. Given the current rate of sales I should comfortably pass the 50k mark this year - a figure to be proud of, I feel. As I get closer I shall line up a nice bottle of red wine to celebrate passing that number.
The Darkweaver books have their faults - I’m always the first to admit this, but the fact that they have gained such a significant (and avid) readership is most gratifying. It makes those early rejection letters all the more sweet to read! My thanks go to all those who encouraged me to keep writing during those early efforts. The power of positive feedback to a writer cannot be underestimated.

I agree that the darkweaver books are a great read. They’re really accessible and fast paced. However I feel the new imperial series surpasses these in sophistication of writing and plot. Keep up the good work!

Hi, Mark. This is Michael01 (used to be just Michael) from Chronicles. Congratulations on your sales!
I haven’t read The Darkweaver Legacy yet, but as soon as I have some extra cash I will definitely order The Forging of the Sword.

If you haven’t read the Darkweaver Legacy books, then where have you been people! Go on and read them! Mark, well done on the Imperial Series, I am very much liking them! And may I say, I am very much looking forward to The Dragon Orb books, they are sounding very good! Keep it up Mark!

Thanks, Michael and Pradumn for your comments. I’ll keep writing as long as people keep enjoying my stories. Let’s hope that the publishers continue to print them for me. :-)
